Games

As promised, albeit much later than I said, I am attempting to catch up on all of our Christmas break fun.  One of the gifts the kids received from Charlie's mom was a game from France.  It is called Jeu du Nain Jaune...translated "game of the yellow dwarf"  It is an old game that she bought in Paris at a game shop.  From my research I found that it is based on a book called Asterix and the Cauldron.  (My research was minimal.)

I love the cards in the set.  They are all well worn and the game was obviously used and loved be a family or families for many years.  The best thing was that when Charlie and I sorted the cards...each and every card was still there...not a missing card in the pack!!  Yeah!  It certainly adds to the effect to have all the pieces and to be able to use the french cards which do not have an Ace but a one card instead.

Here is my mother in law playing the game with the kids...the game is a little bit luck and a little bit strategy, and a lot of fun!
