Our last day with our things, as this is the sight at our house this morning...

The packers and movers have actually been here for three days now. This is the final push. They are loading everything into crates and sealing them up one by one for the transport to Texas. Our house sounds so hollow and is starting to look empty with every box that heads out the door. It's hard to believe that we've only lived in Alaska for 2 years, and technically not even that long, but it seems like we've been here for 10 years. I probably look 10 years older..this climate and the elements are not kind sometimes.
Here are some photos of the wreck we have going on right now....organized wreck, but a wreck no less

On the upshot, the movers have been pretty good about being careful...as long as I am standing in the room with them. I always hear the banging and dropping of things in the other room. We'll see what we end up with on the other side of this move...hopefully not too many broken items. Only time will tell. For now we are exhausted!!!
This weekend also begins the saying of goodbye to all the friends we've made here. Some are leaving before us and some will stay here long after we've gone, but we still have lots of folks to say goodbye to and that is never easy. So here's to another emotional week and the good feeling that will come with moving onto this new adventure.
