Back in the lower 48

Sunshine and Blue skies here...the good weather is following us!

Well, we have arrived in Washington (state) and we have been busy ever since.  We have had our car serviced, seen the Indiana Jones movie, met friends for dinner, eaten at Olive Garden and been to a Target.  Those may not seem like a big deal, but none of those things were possible in Valdez and some of them not possible in the two years we were in Alaska.  Brooke said it best "mom it's like a dream"...yes, Brooke it is like a dream!

As you can see, our first stop in Seattle was the Space Needle.  Again the weather has been beautiful and whoever said it rains in Seattle was on the same fibbers list as the folks who said it rains in Juneau.

We had to walk through a folk festival to get to the Space Needle and it was, shall I say, "interesting." My only comment on that is that if we spend so much time trying to be different, but end up looking like everyone else that's looking different, aren't we all the same again? And oh yes a second comment - hey, it's my blog I can make up the rules as I go along...a little deodorant goes a long way.  Moving on....

Here is our family at the top of the Space Needle.  As I said, it was beautiful and the view was spectacular.

Another great view from atop the Space Needle.  Again, I am afraid of heights and think it is totally worth the adrenaline and fear rush.  I even walked to the edge, completely oblivious to the fact that I knew we would topple over as I approached the edge.

Of course, no visit to Seattle would be complete without visiting Pike Place Public Market.  I took so many photos of the beautiful flowers, the seafood, the fruit, and of course the folks tossing the fish.  It was a great treat to be able to walk around and enjoy the day.

Tonight we are on our way out to the Mariner's game, in full Mariner's gear, as is our Nowak family tradition.  Whenever we head out to a Major League game we purchase t-shirts of the home team and go as "fans."  We are foregoing seafood tonight to dine on ball park food.  We are looking forward to baseball, hot dogs, and a great family evening.

Tomorrow we head out on our way to Idaho.  Potatoes anyone????
