We are!!! I know you know that we are a baseball family but we are also very much a football family. Ok fine we love lots of sports including badminton and volleyball, soccer, tennis....oh the list goes on and on. With the onset of "hypothetical fall" (it's still like 94 degrees here) we enter into football territory.
Let's start with the facts: We all like different NFL teams, they are as follows:
Crystal - Washington Redskins
Charlie - Cincinnati Bengals
Miles - Green Bay Packers
Zach - St. Louis Rams
Brooke - Denver Broncos
Two clarifications---Miles is a Green Bay Packers and a Brett Favre fan and since they are no longer one and the same...he's in a bit of a pickle. He says his loyalty lies with the Packers. And regarding Brooke's team, it was chosen very last minute this morning just before the first kick offs and it was based on the following thinking..."broncos are like My Little Ponies and I like to play ponies so my team is the Denver Broncos"..oooookkkkaaayyyy!
Now the bonus in all this is that we have Direct TV and the NFL Sunday Ticket which essentially means we can watch EVERY NFL game this year and, hello, in HD on the big screen. Yeah, it's a tough life.
Now you can't have football without food...it's illegal...so this morning I started a batch of my world famous chili. Oh you haven't heard of my world famous chili? Well, if I had any friends here they'd be here eating it and they'd tell a friend and then they'd tell a friend and so on and then it would be world famous chili...I need to get some friends....who like to eat chili in 94 degree weather.
At any rate, I'm sure you'll see many a Sunday football post with references to my yummy football snack foods and the progress, or lack of progress, of each of our teams. It could get very intense and I could gain lots of weight...stay tuned.
Now I leave you all today with a super sweet picture. Yes, Daddy's do great things even when Mommy's aren't looking. I heard the hair dyer going and thought "what the heck?" Sweetness!
Now for a public service announcement and a great deal. Miles and I went to Wal*Mart yesterday to get milk....and we found a whole bunch of other stuff...including these...
I'm sure many of you have seen the promotions for not drinking so much bottled water because it fills our landfills with plastic bottles. So Brita is promoting these and they are a super steal. They were $2.98 each, hello.... they are Nalgene bottles that we've paid like $15 each for in the past, but they are filled with singles flavored packets, like Country Time Lemonade, Crystal Light Singles, and Kool Aid singles (we didn't buy this variety...we're not really a Kool Aid family). I'm not super psycho ecofriendly, it tends to not be conducive with my lazy crazy lifestyle but we do use water bottles a lot and these are quite a steal. Check 'em out!

I would eat chili in 94 degree weather if it came with LOTS of sour cream and cheese!!! Those bottles look super cool, yet I am a slacker when it comes to the bringing it back in from the car. Other than that they look like an awesome deal!!
Hey tell Brooke that is as good a way to pick a team as any. Hope they do well this year.
Pam and I went to Allison Pagani's bridal shower to day at The Ekrens. Dave and I played golf and the girls had the shower. Not much to watch since RedSkins played on thursday last
I too could go for some of that Yummy Chili... also, GO STEELERS!! Since.. we live in Hawaii.. no where near a great team. I will take on your teams as well... Wouldn't it be cool though to have a team here... I'll have to get right on that! What would be a good name?
