I PROMISE this will not be a novel like the last post!
First...on Monday we celebrated labor day with mom NOT working to make lunch. We took advantage of Chick Fil A and their promotion of 3 free chicken strips for each person wearing football gear. Brooke was very brave to wear her Redskins jersey here in Cowboys country. Hey we're talking free chicken strips! And they were yummy too! Fun stuff! And a big thank you to Chick Fil A!
When we came home from lunch, Brooke and I settled into a little project she saw on the American girl website and has been wanting to do. It was part recycling, part decorating and part fun.
We took this......
And turned it into this.....
It was so fun. We picked several different types of ribbon and some boa trim for the top and one hot glue gun and in a few minutes we had a really cute accessory for Brooke's room. She is very proud of it. And here it is in her bedroom right near her bed. I like to call her room "lilac explosion." It's quite girly. There is a bit of pink in there too. We are looking for a nice white headboard but haven't found just the thing yet.
Brooke has been very patient in the mornings while I do her hair. She usually likes to wear it in some type of ponytail but I'm getting tired of seeing the same thing so we've been changing it up...but the thing I love the most in this photo is all the pink camo...right down to the hair ribbon. LOVE IT!!!
Ok and finally...we have been in Texas for three months now. Some days it seems shorter, some longer but for the most part I like it here. I wish I could say I LOVE it here, but I'm not there yet. But I must say that evenings like this...
And this...
are helping to make it a lot easier.
Since I agreed to keep it short I'll save my story entitled "Visit to the PTO" and the trivia game "It's Electric: Guess how much my electric bill was this month" (it wasn't pretty) for another day.

Everything about that Brooke is cute... I love. love love the hair.. and of course the cheerleader in me LOVES the bow. Her Room is REALLLY cute.. I wish I lived in there.. is everyone getting a trashcan for christmas?? Can I put in my color combo requests now?

Was quite impressed with the talent yo have Brooke. Great Ideas, mom take a lesson. Those sunsets look great. Guess I'll have to stop and see if the sun goes down here or if it just gets dark.
Mom and I were on the canning thing to day. 16 pints of Rasberry jam. Tomorrow prob 6 pints of Black berry and 6 pints of Peach preserves.. Friday maybe the crumbly apple pie. Opps did I write that.. Heather disregard my last. We'll call you when we make it ( YA right)
How did you know? My biggest weakness in all of creation is Chick Fil A. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! I will be there shortly. I fly in tomorrow at about 4pm. Please have a large Coke (not diet! ewww) and a 20,000-piece nugget waiting for me. I do not care if it is hot, cold, frozen, whatever! I must have Chick Fil A. Slurp! Sorry. Drooling on the keyboard. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Oh yeah, and Brooke looks so adorable. Nice room, wonderful trash can....Blah, blah, don't forget the honey sauce and napkins. I mean it.
Love Brooke's creativity and her stylin camo! Is it wrong that I try to rock out ribbon in my hair still? Probably, right?! PS. where is Brooke's PINK redskins jersey? Hope you enjoyed your chik-fil-A!
