Our weekend...

I'd like to say we did something super spectacular this weekend (or that I actually took a shower today) but it's just not true.  Our weekend started on Friday and this is what I was treated to...

Zach making some of his spectacular eggs....Uncle Mick showed him how to make eggs during a visit and Zach has perfected his own version...seriously the kid makes better eggs than I do.  Of course he had his sidekick Brooke to help out by making toast, so they could deliver these yummy delights to each of us...

Egg sandwiches for breakfast...they were delicious!!

The rest of our weekend we did stuff like this...reading magazines that have newly arrived in the mail...

Illegally playing in the sprinkler at 7:45 pm last night...since technically we weren't supposed to be using the water before 8 pm...but as you can see that wasn't Charlie's biggest concern...it was that Brooke not get water in his freshly made TGI Friday's beverage...priorities people...he was eventually as soaked as she was.

But maybe not quite as stoked to be in the water as Brooke...seriously....where does she get these things from....

I would never .....ok, maybe...once...in tenth grade....cause I thought for a moment I was SUPER COOL...

Anyway, one of the reasons we didn't really do much this weekend was because we were fully entrenched in the Olympics.  Miles was the self appointed organizer of the activity....read: he knows how to run the DVR and record multiple things at once.  We have recorded and watched lots of events and have been able to cheer on the US in many events.  We've got a long few weeks ahead of us but Miles, I feel assured will not allow us to stray..he has become "one" with the remote and DVR.

We also did little things like....make Brooke a ladybug dress.  We bought this in Anchorage before we left Alaska and one quick seam up the back and a hem in the bottom and voila...I'm a sewing prodigy.

And finally, and possibly most importantly, we used this....

to make BROWNIES!!!!  Very good brownies...like "if- my- kids- hadn't- smelled- them- baking- and- knew- they- were- in- the- house- I- would- hide- the- whole- pan- for- myself" brownies.

Thinking of ordering chinese food for dinner...in the spirit of the games and all...not because I'm lazy or anything...hey the Olympics are on for like 17 more days....how many days of takeout Chinese food do you think I could get away with before the family caught on?

And, I also changed up the look of the blog...like?  dislike?  don't care? thinking about not reading this blog anymore and this is the perfect excuse?  Feedback people!  There's a comments section... use it...but be nice...I'm feeling fragile these days, not having any friends here and all...a downright mean comment could send me to my ridiculously oversized bedroom closet to cry uncontrollably with that whole pan of brownies.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!!

Hey!

If I send Hayden to visit next summer, will Zach teach him how to make me breakfast too?

Love the blog, and if it's any consolation, things just aren't the same without you all here!

Love the flashback photo, I can see where Brooke gets it from! The brownies sound delicious. You are too funny! Like the new look!

Great new look of the blog. Kinda hard for us older or more mature readers to see the print. But I can still see it ok

Um - I don't believe I signed a release for the use of my image in your blog. You'll be hearing from my lawyer as soon as I can find a cheap one (so just keep holding your breath).

I love the new look and love reading your blog in general - you really should go into professional writing. BTW - do you EVER check your e-mail or are you just ignoring me (boo hoo - going to go cry in my ridiculously small bathroom - closet isn't even big enough for the cat much less me!).
