Well at least for me...today...this very day I have finished enrolling my children for school. Sing it with me...it's the most wonderful time of the year!!!!
I am a so excited for them to be going back to school, getting into a routine and not doing this for part of their day...sitting and watching TV. (OK it's hot here and it's summer vacation too, but please)

Note that Miles and Zach are pretty much hanging out in the bonus room upstairs which is kind of like "living in squalor" since it's the one room I have paid zero attention to as of yet. More about that room later.
I was able to get all of the kids registered and I had all the paperwork for their g/t programs and it has been pretty smooth sailing.
I can't believe Miles is a freshman????? Miles' registration was this morning and it was a great sit down with a counselor so we got him enrolled in some great stuff: geometry, pre AP placements in History and English, he chose not to go pre AP biology, it took everything I had to not tell the counselor to just go ahead and put him in that harder biology class, he also chose art, a technology class, a speech class/health class (one semester each) and then a PE class. Very interesting that here you can take general PE or special PE classes like football, swim, tennis, etc. They are having some get togethers for new students before school starts so that should be good...he's so not excited about the AP english now as he has to read two novels and do a bunch of work in the next 2 weeks. He's already read Animal Farm so that will just be a quick re read, and he also has to read John Steinbeck's The Pearl . He also has to annotate the novels and do journal logs. LOVE IT!!! I wanna be back in school...even if he is rolling his eyes at me. One thing I can say about him is that he's no procrastinator, he wants those books today so he can get started.
Brooke and Zach will find out who their teachers are in two weeks and we'll get to have a new student shindig too. I hope they both get really awesome teachers who just love them like the fabulous people there are and are becoming. I am really excited for the kids...umm and for myself too I guess...NORMALCY, ROUTINE, A LITTLE PEACE AND QUIET...all good things!!
OK and finally...about that bonus room..it's so big...and atrocious and we just threw all the extra furniture, televisions, computers and boxes of books up there. We have the guy coming to finish the wall texturizing from the closet project that Charlie and the kids finished so when that's done it's time to rearrange and decorate that room. Not really looking forward to that...but I am looking forward to school starting.
Did I mention it's the most wonderful time of the year!!!!???

AHH, the bonus room reminds me of home!! I'm excited for the kids to start school too, I just wish I was going with them. Now about the big kid, will he ever return to his place of employment?
