#1 Olympics.....

I love the Olympics. We are kind of addicted to watching all the sporting events. Some of my recent favorites are snowboarding because we LOVE Shaun White

Have you seen him do his Double McTwist 1260? Amazing! Especially knowing how hard it is for me to just stay upright on a snowboard.

I'm also loving the cross country ski events because it's the one winter Olympic sport I know how to do...I coulda been a contender...

And hello...I was totally the one who invented the "snow pants that look like jeans" thing...where are my royalties?

While looking for the pic of me skiing, I found this of Brooke....she was 6 at the time...too stinkin' cute!

OK I'm also totally enthralled by curling...yes, curling. I have no idea what the objective or rules are ( I should ask Miles, he knows these things) but I totally love that people are out there with a stone, a broom and a target and they just grunt and yell at each other. I would love to drive way up north and crash a curling practice...they must be a fun bunch.

Check out those awesome pants...go Team Finland with your stylish selves!

The Olympics will be over soon so, if you haven't seen any of the events, make the time now!

#2 Speaking of winter things...it's supposed to snow here tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it's a lie but, just in case, I am fully armed with multiple snack foods and the perfunctory toilet paper and milk...and my jeans that look like snow pants. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

#3 I just read Hunger Games for my book club and it was AWESOME!

It's considered teen fiction and it has a sci-fi edge and, honestly that's not usually anywhere near my genre but, this book was awesome. Charlie got a copy from the college library and I received one in my book club exchange, so after reading the first chapter I told Miles to give it a try (since he's always reading AP English stuff, which is great but can be mundane). We were both hooked from chapter 1 and we were racing to see who would finish first. Let me just say...had I not stopped to fix my family dinner - being the good mother I am - I would have totally been done before him! Anyway, that's one of my favorite things about book clubs - reading something you may not have picked yourself.

#4 And my final miscellany is this....Miles will be 15 years old on Saturday. 15....WOW!

Wow! Great cut for Brooke! We had no idea her hair was so long and beautiful. It is also beautiful in the shorter crop, but also sassy and sporty and totally Brooke! Thanks for the lovely post. Good luck with your blizzard! :)

Ashley loved The Hunger Games and Alyssa loves the Suzanne Collins series Gregor the Overlander. She started reading it in 3rd grade. Brooke might like? P.S. Brooke's hair is super cute!
