Happy Earth Day
..and as kermit says..."it's not easy being green" but we all do our best to contribute. At least we aren't one of those gas guzzling, Suburban driving families...oh yeah...right...ok, well moving on.
Well, I am one of those people who has the reuseable grocery bags...but....umm....I'm also the person who leaves them in her car and remembers them as I'm approaching the check out. I try...really I do, but it's so hard in this prepackaged life we live in. I'll do better from now on I promise!!
Being kind to the Earth and reusing, recycling, and reducing is all the talk today at school and on the news, so being the good mom that I am, I planned a little Martha Stewart-mother/daughter-Earth Day moment for Brooke and I (the boys were at school late today, so it was just Brooke and I for an hour after school.)
We planted some flowers for our front porch. It was 96 degrees outside (global warming, I'm pretty sure), so thankfully this was a quick and easy project and an opportunity to talk about taking care of our Earth and caring about our little space in the world. And these flowers will bring us much joy for many months to come...if I can remember to water them...or if our town doesn't run out of water...or if some varmint doesn't dig them up.
Nice job Brooke!!! YAY for the Nowak ladies doing something good for the Earth..or our front porch..or BOTH!!!

For Earth Day I decided to drive my SUV down to Richmond and back, and sit in a little traffic just to enhance the global warming...Seriously though I will celebrate Earth Day this weekend when I plant my cilantro and my new Basil plant. Thats right my first one has already died!!
