A visit from Virginia

Well, actually my sister's name isn't Virginia, it's Heather, but she lives in Virginia (lucky her) hence, "a visit from Virginia."

During the second half of October we were lucky enough to get a visit from my sister Heather and her not quite one year old baby boy Connor. We welcomed them in style, courtesy of Brooke, who lovingly made this banner.

While they were here we did a lot of talking and catching up but we also took a few trips around the local area. We headed to the The Riverwalk one day and grabbed lunch.

We also took her to two Texas hot spots...

that she wasn't able to try last time she was here. Oh yeah, Whataburger...

and Taco Cabana...she found both to be tasty!

I don't have any photos of those little trips but I do have a few of a trip the whole family took to our local nature center.

It's a small but really beautiful area. We decided to take a walk and head down toward the creek.
C'mon Connor...just a little smile...a little..just a little....

Yep...there it is...a very little smile...but so cute!!!!

We stopped to take a photo of my sister and I and our kiddos.

Charlie and Brooke did some investigating...Brooke so badly wanted to take her shoes off and get in the water. I think she was hoping to "accidentally" fall in.

It was fun to get out and enjoy the weather. When we left the nature center we headed into town and visited a new little candy shop that had just opened. We bought and enjoyed lots of fun and yummy candies.

Brooke spent lots of time on the floor with Connor, his stompin grounds, and loved every minute of him. She is great with babies and did a great job of making him laugh often.

We were so sad to see them leave at the end of the week. It always goes by too fast but we are thankful for Heather's bravery in travelling on an airplane with a baby all by herself and making the time to hang out with us here in Texas.
