Since we moved here, three years ago, Charlie has been wanting to go up the road to Waring, TX to go to Don Strange's Ranch and go to the Wednesday night steaknite. It's an outdoor event every Wednesday night. Price of admission includes steak and a buffet and live music and well....let's face it.... what else do you need?
I'm always a little hesitant when Charlie is in charge of food destinations....you know his rule: if it looks like it hasn't had a health inspection in a few decades then he wants to give it a try. I know this is essentially playing Russian Roulette with your internals....but marriage is about compromise, and occasionally Pepto Bismol.
When we pulled up we saw this....
I was so hoping to see Brett Michaels but after inquiring, I was told it was just his driver. LIES!!! Well....who knows, but I had a sneaking suspicion that he was in there. Anyway, moving on.... there was steak to eat and live music to enjoy so we headed inside. 
It's a little country store. Very unassuming for sure! We paid at the counter walked through the store and headed outside. There were appetizers, salad, desserts, steak, potatoes, bread, and ice tea. You served yourself buffet style, and then headed out to grab a spot at one of the picnic tables. We figured there might be a few people and it started off slow but within about 7 1/2 minutes the place was packed...wall to wall people.
The kids always like these exploring adventures...especially when there is food involved. 
And then the live music started. And I kept thinking this guy would play a few songs and then Brett Michaels would come out but no dice....and that's OK, this guy was good and it was a great evening to sit outside and eat and be with my family.
And take pictures of beautiful little girls who have sweet, sweet smiles!
Don't worry Waring....we'll be back!!!
