Evidently word moves fast in the reptile community. It must be getting around town that we have a pretty sweet spot to hang cause yesterday morning this little guy came to visit.
As I was walking into the foyer to put something in Brooke's back pack before school, I saw what I thought was a small piece of straw or grass on the tile. Being the conscientious housekeeper that I am, I made a mental note to vacuum when the kids left for school (alternately I was going to ignore it and hope it made it's way back outside). At any rate, as I continued to walk, the "straw" made a bee line for my foot and I screamed a very loud scream. Brooke and Charlie came running and captured this little guy....
Yes, this very tiny four clawed gecko had made its way into our house overnight. I don't even want to know what other little critters invite themselves in while I sleep. We put him in this little bowl and we all found it very cool that we could almost see through him. We got a good look at his intestines right there...always great for breakfast conversation.
After breakfast we sent him back outside. If you enlarge the picture you can see how tiny this guy was compared to Charlie's thumb. So funny that I was afraid of something so small but then we all know I'm afraid of my own shadow.See we are completely into education here...the Nowak children learned more yesterday morning before breakfast than some kids did all day long. Oh if only I home schooled, my day would have been over before it started!

I remember these things coming into our house in Killeen all the time. I, like you, don't like creepy little things in my house. It was always fun to figure out how to get them out of my house, especially when Keith wasn't around to capture them for me. Let's just say the world has a few geckos less due to my "tactics" for getting them out.
Wow! How, um, cute? We have those wee visitors in Hawaii when on vacay there. For little tiny things, they sure have a loud voice. Lovely science lesson. Keep up the good work.
And the kiddos look so happy. They look wonderful! We are working on kindergarten this year for Gwen. It has been a nightmare, no exaggeration. If you are to be believed, it does indeed get easier. Thanks for the glimmer of hope! Have a great year!
