AAAAHHHHH!!!!

I feel like I can finally take a nice deep breath and maybe even get a good night's sleep.  As you can see from the post below Charlie has been attending a training school and for those who don't know, it has lasted the last FOUR MONTHS.  It has been LOOOOONNNNGGGG!!!!

Charlie has been gone every Mon -Fri since late October attending an intense military training school a few hours away.  That's meant that he was essentially unavailable to me and the kids during the week.  He drove home every Friday afternoon and stayed through the whole weekend. Then he got up at 3am every Monday morning to drive back to the school.  He did extremely well, graduated yesterday and is back home now.  I know we are both exhausted in our own ways. In some ways it felt like it has gone quickly but in lots of ways it felt like I was just chugging through some of those days.

The kids did wonderfully with it and honestly I feel like they are so flexible that it was merely a blip for them.  I, on the other hand, threw a baby fit... or two.  "Why me?  Why do I always get left here to do everything ELSE while you are on "vacation"??"  Oh it was quite dramatic..you should have been here...no really, I mean you should.have.been.here...Charlie could have used the moral support, I'm sure.  I won't downplay what I did because I totally picked up ALL OF THE SLACK when he was gone, but it was unfair of me to call Charlie's school a "vacation."  It was more like a spa retreat...NO, I KID I KID! It was hard work I know, and I appreciate that he has done this thing for our family. I know it wasn't easy. If that sounds like a public apology...it might be...I'm telling you..there were some BABY FITS!

Anyway, yay for our whole family being together again every day...and in the spirit of total extremes...he will now be home on leave for an entire month before he has to return to work...I kid you not. Should be....uuuh.....interesting!!

I'm happy that your Charlie is home finally! I'm throwing a few of those 'fits' now too b/c i'm here in BFE and Philip is in VA for a 2-week school, yes only 2 weeks, but i'm 32 weeks preggo and with a 2 1/2 year old - my patience and energy level is very thin... :) I feel your pain, hopefully mine will be over soon too! He comes home Mar. 7th.

OF COURSE there were baby fits! Give yourself a break, but just a little one and don't let it happen again. Kidding! I'm glad you guys are all back to "normal", which is kind of a stretch for you Nowaks, isn't it?
Seriously, I agree - your kids are great kids! The best!
Time for a celebration, right? Let the pastries begin!!
