Rain, Rain, Mud

It has rained here a lot recently. Which we are all grateful for because we needed the rain desperately. But when it rains here, it tends to pour, and when it pours everything just runs off because the ground is so dry it's like concrete. Well last Saturday it rained heavily and steadily for most of the day and night.

Here is our brand new stream in our front yard....

A few more inches and we can go kayaking or fishing out there...

Here's part of my back yard pool....anybody wanna come for a swim?

And here is Brooke....she is saying "c'mon mom give me a hug." We took the opportunity of super moist soil to pull out some horrendous, generic "landscaper's special" bushes that came with the house and Brooke saw her opportunity to play in the mud. Dad said yes to this activity and mom stumbled upon the mess....and oh what a mess it was....but clearly she had a great time!!!! Grown ups pay big bucks for spa treatments like this...she's just ahead of her time.
