Lucky Day

Do you see my own little Leprechaun through the window there?

Here's hoping that you all had a wonderfully lucky St. Patrick's Day! I'd say my kids did as they have a mother who loves nothing more than to celebrate real and made up holidays alike.  The woman at the grocery checkout questioned my sanity when I went through with as many fun green items as I could find to celebrate this festive day! I looked right back at her with an even crazier look and let her know I couldn't believe other people weren't doing this!!!

Our day was green and super fun!  I was volunteering at school during Brooke and Zach's lunch times so I took little green bags with a green mini soda, a pringles sour cream and onion chips, and a green jello.  Miles got his after school since it would have been way UNcool to have me show up with a treat bag during lunch....high schoolers frown upon these things!! Although knowing Miles he probably would have been fine with it!

For dinner we had traditional corned beef and cabbage which we all really enjoyed , along with some potato bread. For dessert we made a green jello/cool whip treat, had a few Mike and Ike's and some green cotton candy...plus...we had a few skittles...hello...a rainbow of flavors...as any good leprechaun would attest to.

I know we were a little heavy on the sugar but  St. Patrick's Day only comes once a year...plus, if you know me you know I love a good theme day/night. And it's just plain fun to live a little!!

Corned beef and cabbage sounds super yummy! Chris does not like cabbage, so that is why I am left to eat stroganoff often. I guess I have a year now to make whatever i like!!!
